The appeal of a cropped top and a skirt are surely feminine and rather flirty. It allows for the appeal of showing off midriff while wearing a pretty top, but then you also get to wear a skirt for feminine and comfortable style. Putting the style together is different for various types. The basic cropped top and skirt combination is to simply pair a cropped top of some kind along with some kind of skirt. The other way to wear the style is to go with a cropped top but then wear a high-waist skirt so that some or no midriff is bared. Alternatively, some fashionistas simply take T-shirts, tank tops, and other kinds of tops and just knot them to bare midriff; and then they just wear a skirt to have a different style of cropped top with skirt. The hottest application of a cropped top and a skirt usually is a hot cropped top paired with a slim-fitting skirt. While it is a cropped top look to take a basic top and knot it, those are disqualified for inclusion. They have to be legit cropped tops and not regular-length tops knotted. Only possible exception is perhaps if a regular-length top is paired with a low-rise skirt. Though a proper cropped top is required to be among this discussion, but midriff baring is not required. This is especially for cropped tops that are paired with high-waist skirts.
