Differences in Perspective

John B. Marine | 4:40 PM | | Be the first to comment!
Fashion is different when seen from other perspectives. A now-defunct blog once expressed male and female perspective on outfits constantly. What males may not like about a feminine outfit, females do. What some females may not like about a masculine outfit, males do. Does a person have to properly understand fashion to discuss it? Not necessarily. Nobody looks up to me for fashion advice, and I couldn't be one's personal stylist to save somebody's life. What I do provide, though, is my own thoughts on one's style. That is good enough to properly discuss fashion.

This blog post is not about any specific outfit. Instead, I'm simply talking about what a difference outside perspectives on fashion can do.

Perspectives: Males About Feminine Outfits.

Let me speak to the level of males making opinions on feminine fashion.

Us males often think a lot about what makes females stylish, cute, romantic, edgy, or whatever. Some of us could cringe a bit as to some fashion choices some fashionistas may make. Males could, for example, question why a fashionista goes for animal prints or neon, especially if males do not necessarily like certain animal prints or neon. A fashionista couldn't care less because she knows how to make a style statement.

I personally have seen a number of fashion blogs from fashionable types worldwide. An overwhelming majority of these blogs are feminine bloggers. I feel my own opinions on certain outfits are on my own style tastes. I do sometimes, though, feel I may seem like I am trying to flirt when praising a fashionista's outfit. The idea I get is that a male who compliments on a female's style is that someone is simply trying to express thoughts on a fashionista's style and not trying to want to be with her. Things often don't always work out that way at times.

Perspectives: Females About Masculine Outfits.

As much as males have their thoughts on what makes a female beautiful, females have their own fashion tastes in males. A number of females love a well-dressed and handsome male. Perhaps they may also love one who is muscular or just overall charming. I am not as certain as to how females feel exactly about male style, but I am sure many have exquisite takes on masculine fashion.

Final Thoughts.

It is perfectly fine to have your own perspective on fashion based on your own takes. I am not suggesting anyone is right or wrong regarding perspectives on fashion. Your takes on fashion whether male or female are your own unique takes. So feel free to feel however you want regarding fashion commentary.

Rain Boots vs. Riding Boots

John B. Marine | 2:18 PM | | | | Be the first to comment!
Flat boots can be as stylish as their higher heel counterparts. Two popular flat boot types for fashionistas are rain boots and riding boots. Since both are popular, I figured I'd compare and contrast the two in this blog post. So if you're a fan of rain boots and/or riding boots, then please keep reading this blog post for more regarding both types of boots.

Before I Begin...

WOW! I haven't updated this blog with new posts since April 2020? Time to update this blog for real! "StyleSpace by JBM" is back, baby! :D

Rain Boots vs. Riding Boots

Which style of boots are you going with here?

Rain Boots.

fashion rain boots
^ from: (Sloggers) - You don't have to be in high water or rain to enjoy rain boots.

Rain boots have their appeal in the sense they can be colorful and have certain patterns. Some people would think it's pointless to have rain boots for when it is not actually raining. It was much the same way I used to dislike the boots into jeans/pants trend for when it is not in piles of snow or going through some high water. Rain boots come in a number of different styles ranging from solid to patterned. They can have a matte style finish, or they can be very shiny and glossy. They can be as fashionable and as versatile as crocs rubber clogs. Fashionistas who usually fancy rain boots often love Hunter Wellington (or "Wellies") the most among rain boots. A wide variety of knock-off brands and inexpensive options are also available for those who can't afford Hunter Wellington rain boots. Whatever the case, their appeal is very real.

Riding Boots.

fashion riding boots
^ from: (Macy's) - You don't have to work on a ranch or be involved in equestrian sports to enjoy riding boots.

You could say that riding boots are the more chic option as far as these flat boots are concerned. I personally love riding boots for their sleek silhouette. It is because of their sleekness that riding boots can be stylish and... if I may use this word, sexy as well. Most fashionistas usually wear riding boots either tucked into jeans or even in riding pants. In fact, I often fancy an equestrian-style outfit for cold weather. It's casual to wear riding boots with sleek jeans and a warm jacket. Casual, yet classy and chic.

So now that you know about the two styles of boots, which do you prefer?

Rain Boots vs. Riding Boots: Which is Better?

There is no real right or wrong answer here. Whichever one you like more depends on your style and your own tastes in fashion.

You know how some guys don't like certain things girls like, because and in response, "it's a girl thing?" Well, that's the vibe I get with rain boots. It's kind of like why I am not crazy about any sort of animal print outfits. I wouldn't consider rain boots to compliment nearly any sort of outfit. If I had to choose between rain boots and riding boots, I'd surely go with riding boots. Riding boots just have that great sense of style and sleek nature that makes them charming and fashionable to wear. They suit outfits better to me than rain boots.

On the other hand, rain boots are more versatile in terms of style. Chances are, you are not going to choose rain boots to compliment a semi-classy or semi-formal style outfit if you choose to wear any kind of boots with the outfit. So one would surely try to wear rain boots for a lot of different casual or daytime outfits. Really, you'd be best served showing your creative side with some rain boots and with a funky pattern to them. They are more expressive and not as chic as riding boots.

Really, it is up to you. All I wanted to do is just bring both styles of boots to light.

Rain Boots and Riding Boots Online

Regardless of which style of boots you like more from this post, I can help you find some charming rain boots or riding boots with the items in this section. Feel free to look around! Your involvement is voluntary but appreciated.

For Rain Boots...

For Riding Boots...

Quick Takes Project

John B. Marine | 8:32 PM | Be the first to comment!
I want to share something with you all. On my official website (johnbmarine.com), I am working on a feature page showcasing brief fashion commentary. These are quick takes on various fashion items and topics. They are all apart from my more detailed discussions usually posted here on "StyleSpace by JBM." I will use this blog post to discuss what I need to discuss in regards to plans for this new feature for my website. So keep reading to learn more about my plans and what I hope to accomplish.

By the way, I will not use the official name of my project in this blog post. So it will be referred to here as "Quick Takes." "Quick Takes" is just the project name; not the official name.

"Quick Takes" Project

The reason why I created "StyleSpace by JBM" was to discuss fashion and beauty in a blog. I do not have the proper knowledge to expertly discuss fashion. I basically created the blog to offer my own fashion/beauty commentary in my own way. I felt the need to discuss things professionally and detailed. For as long as I have blogged about fashion even before the proliferation of "StyleSpace by JBM," I wanted to offer my own commentary on fashion and beauty.

If "StyleSpace by JBM" is my primary fashion/beauty discussion outlet, why am I creating another outlet? To me, I feel the need to discuss fashion/beauty in my own way to give some brief thoughts on certain fashion topics. I want to provide a more brief look at fashion. You can always read my blog posts for my own thoughts about fashion topics and various trends. However, what if you wanted to know what I think about certain items like maxi dresses or over-knee boots? I can always do a blog post offering a detailed discussion on each item. Or, I can provide some quick ideas so you can get a general idea of what I think about each item.

It takes time to develop each thought of mine regarding any topic. I usually make sure to properly study and research each topic unless I make something just for fun. I put that kind of pressure on myself because I know how I want to express myself and my thoughts. Providing some brief thoughts on certain items in a separate setting helps to provide fashion fans with unique viewpoints of mine.

What I Hope to Accomplish.

What I hope to accomplish with these quick takes on fashion/beauty is to provide my own thoughts on fashion and beauty in a simple digest. None of my quick takes will be any overly impressive and detailed posts. They will instead be quick ways of expressing my thoughts on various fashion topics. In addition, whether you agree or disagree with my points, I also want to treat certain topics with respect to where you can get more involved with my ideas through shopping for certain things. I honestly need to find more ways to try to generate some kind of financial income outside of my usual blogging. I want to give but also give back. I feel this Quick Takes project is one way to make that happen.

How Will This Work?

I begin by providing as many different fashion topics in alphabetical order. It will begin with as many fashion topics I can think of through the English alphabet. That means any sort of fashion topic I can think of from "A" to "Z" and maybe some numbers if I can think of any. While the topics may be varied, none of them will be about a specific designer or any specific companies. So for example, I won't blog about fashions offered by Aeropostale or Converse sneakers specifically. Most of these quick fashion takes mostly consist of specific styles and items. When the visitor looks at a certain quick take I make about a fashion topic, that visitor will be met with a description of that topic followed by my thoughts on that topic. Other material, such as shopping resources and other reading will be made available to help enhance the experience more.

As of now, I have made general prototypes on how I want to structure all of my content. I have begun using software like BlueGriffon to build the basic HTML files. What has NOT happened yet is how I plan to put it all together to make the dream sort of site come to fruition. Because there are so many topics (more than over 400 individual topics!), it may take a month or longer to compile material on all of the topics I have selected and comment on. I may upload material on an interval process. So I might make incremental uploads of my completed content when I complete my posts for one letter of the alphabet and then keep going until I compiled all of the content to complete my project and my feature page. All of the topics in alphabetical order will all be provided, but none of it will be complete until all of my content is properly complete and uploaded. So you may look for my fashion topics that may start with the letter "L," but nothing will be there until the project is complete and that all files and commentary have been made.

Remember to visit my official website to see my feature page. You can visit the link to my official website at the conclusion of this blog post.

Now that you know what I am working on, I hope you will be around to take a look at it all once it is complete. I am glad all of you have taken part in my work and getting involved accordingly. Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Is Victoria's Secret Still Cool?

John B. Marine | 3:10 PM | | | Be the first to comment!
Victoria's Secret has fallen from grace the past few years. This company is still famous for the hottest lingerie and all the casual "PINK" clothing for young fans. Who doesn't want to be a Victoria's Secret Angel? It had a vastly praised annual fashion show. Of late, though? Plenty of issues. Things such as Victoria's Secret slamming the notion of plus size and transgender modeling have made some fans push aside Victoria's Secret and all the company stands for. There have been recent reports of harassment and unfair treatment among past Victoria's Secret Angels and various other persons associated with Victoria's Secret. All of these things add up to possibly wondering if Victoria's Secret is still relevant or cool these days. This is a question I hope to answer in my own way in this blog post.

Before I Begin...

First "StyleSpace by JBM" post of 2020! Happy new year! :D

Is Victoria's Secret Still Cool?

People have their thoughts, and I will definitely share mine. Here's the best image I could find to provide the mood for this post:

Victoria's Secret
^ from: (YouTube) - Is Victoria's Secret still cool? My thoughts are expressed in this post.

If you are any kind of hot or fashionable female, you've probably heard of Victoria's Secret at some point. The brand is synonymous with clothing for the hot and confident woman. Younger types who still want to feel fun and hot are usually into Victoria Secret's PINK line. If you want to work up a sweat with Victoria's Secret, you have the Victoria Sport (or VSX) brand. Victoria's Secret has something for every fashionista mostly 18 or older. To promote the brand globally, some of the loveliest ladies parade their Victoria's Secret wardrobe with the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. These Victoria's Secret Angels are among some of the most attractive women in the world showcasing absolute confidence and charm. Personally, I loved South African model Candice Swanepoel among the Victoria's Secret Angels.

Despite all of the love people have given Victoria's Secret over the years, they have been under fire for a number of reasons. I can recall VS ranted on once as they once thought of a clothing collection for younger types (like children or very young teens. Victoria's Secret rejected the notion of plus-size models for their clothing. They also rejected the notion of transgender models for their clothing. In recent years, the once-popular Victoria's Secret Fashion Show had ratings drop as well as the show being entirely canceled. This leads people to believe that Victoria's Secret as a whole is a sinking ship. It is a ship that has taken some damage at the bottom and is slowly going under.

A lot of what you have read so far points towards Victoria's Secret is not as enticing and fun as it used to be. So is it still a cool brand? Does there possibly need to be some sort of change to keep Victoria's Secret relevant? Let me offer my own ideas here.

Is Victoria's Secret Still Cool? I Say...

...yes. I doubt a vast majority of fashionistas will treat Victoria's Secret as if they are boycotting the brand. People would have to REALLY hate Victoria's Secret to where it no longer becomes any sort of iconic designer brand. That even includes seeing all the "PINK" and "LOVE PINK" casual clothing among young fans of the brand. I still think Victoria's Secret is the brand for the confident and hot fashionista. Honestly, this company has to be better accepting of various women as well as not make statements that will ruffle the feathers of various fashionistas.

Unless some other designer is on the same wavelength of what Victoria's Secret stands for in terms of apparel and appeal, I doubt Victoria's Secret will completely fall into irrelevance. Even still, Victoria's Secret really needs to clean up its image to avoid being completely left for dead. It can still be a designer offering flirty and sexy clothing and intimates while not being a brand with some completely corrupt leadership or controversial practices. More of the issues of Victoria's Secret's are more internal rather than people disliking their clothing as a whole or anything. So while I say Victoria's Secret is still cool, they are still a number of false steps away from falling into obscurity. They have to get things together- and QUICK.

Those are my thoughts. What say you?

Is Victoria's Secret still cool to you?

I hope you enjoyed my commentary piece here. Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Fenty Puma x Rihanna Bow Sneakers

John B. Marine | 5:38 PM | | | Be the first to comment!
Recording artist Rihanna hooked up with PUMA to create footwear for women. Of the popular offerings is the Fenty PUMA x Rihanna bow sneakers. Sporty meets girly in the most unique way with these satin sneakers. I saw these sneakers in my research of pairing sneakers with unlikely outfits. So here is a blog post focused on those ever popular bow sneakers. Let me begin with a simple picture of the sneakers I will be discussing:

Fenty PUMA bow sneakers
^ from: eyeconicwear.com (best I could find) - Fenty PUMA × Rihanna Bow Sneakers.

For one thing, I used to like Rihanna's music early on. I am not much a fan of hers anymore, though. The Barbados beauty still does a lot to get herself across. One of those ways was when she announced her collaboration with PUMA to develop a line of footwear for the popular active footwear brand. When I was researching for sneaker pairings with unlikely outfits (a later deleted blog post), a lot of different stores had those bow sneakers no longer in stock. So you can imagine how hot those sneakers must be if so many retailers (at least online) are sold out. Want another example of how much these are loved? According to one site, the Fenty PUMA x Rihanna sneakers were most searched sneakers on Lyst.com in 2017. So these sneakers were loved more than even Nike or Vans sneakers (maybe even more than Converses as well).

The PUMA Bow Sneaker Fenty by Rihanna is the combination of a pair of slip on sneakers complimented by a huge ribbon. These are mostly satin sneakers, so these sneakers are more tailored towards elegance while still being sporty. As much as I haven't enjoyed the dress + sneakers trend, I will admit if you are going to foolishly pair sneakers with any dress or any sort of elegant outfit, something like these bow sneakers wouldn't be bad to do them with. In addition, these sneakers come in an array of colors such as Sweet Lavender, Olive Green, Silver Pink, Pink Tint, and Pink among other colors.

With the amount of style these sneakers provide, these bow sneakers from Rihanna's Fenty PUMA collection can be complimented with almost any kind of outfit. I advise against it, but you could even have a sporty touch to a night-out style glamour outfit by wearing these sneakers. So you could even pair these sneakers with a party dress or some kind of short evening dress and look too much out of touch. Or of course, feel free to wear these sneakers with your casual outfits or even some of your active outfits. These sneakers don't have to be exclusively casual. Since these sneakers make their own statement, you probably will want to make sure your outfit doesn't overpower these sneakers or try to be as powerful as these sneakers.

My Thoughts on Fenty PUMA × Rihanna Bow Sneakers.

If you're going to be sporty cute or infuse some sporty style to your outfits, the Fenty Bow Sneakers offer the perfect synergy to offer sporty cuteness to your outfits. Since these are from PUMA, I am sure you are getting high quality active footwear even not exercising. So go ahead and pair these sneakers with your cutest dress or your best skirt outfit. Go with a pair of shorts or cropped jeans/pants with these sneakers. Or of course, wear these sneakers with your different active outfits. The options are endless.

When I checked on prices for these sneakers, they retail for about $160 USD. A lot of online outlets, though, sell them for about $55 USD. Prices for these sneakers could even reach up to $300 USD! Be sure to snap them up for a decent price if you love these sneakers!

Honestly, I think these are high-end sneakers that probably should have a handful of much more affordable knockoffs. Maybe not high-end sneakers the likes of Giuseppe Zanotti or Isabel Marant, but perhaps to where certain mainstream designers would likely copy. I think these sneakers are very cute and surely compliment the fashionista who doesn't mind showing sporty cute appeal with her wardrobe. Good luck scoring your own pair if you can get your hands on some!

I MIGHT be able to help if you like these sneakers. Try this:

Most of what I wanted to say is done for. So I hope you enjoyed this post.

This one's done.

Would you buy these sneakers? How would you style them?

Beautiful Males

John B. Marine | 10:51 PM | | | | Be the first to comment!

WARNING:
The following topic may not be suitable for all audiences. Due to the subject matter of this topic, viewer discretion is advised. Parents of younger children will need to restrict or limit younger viewers from viewing this material. Otherwise, you are reading this material at your own risk.

To some, males aren't supposed to be feminine beautiful. Males somehow shouldn't have visual features that entice and arouse like a female would. Males shouldn't even be cuter than most females to some! Despite this, it's reality. There are some males who boast beauty features that make them as enticing as most beauty queens and female muses. So for this blog post, I will focus in on males who test the waters of pretty and beautiful.

Beautiful Males

So males can't be beautiful? Males can't have feminine-type beauty? The beauty of male androgyny can be seen with models such as this one:

beautiful male models
^ from: (Pinterest) - This is Ukranian-born Israeli model Stav Strashko, who since has transitioned to a female since circa 2016.

Here is what mainstream society will think:

In society, we have gender roles and gender norms. Most males are supposed to be hunky, muscular, and truly handsome. Most members of society would cringe on the notion of a male having feminine-type beauty or even in wearing feminine-type garments. In addition, some would accuse such males of being crossdressers. I have seen a number of models ranging from males to females. I have seen a number of the cutest females to some of the most dashing males. Not many can appreciate beauty in all things- even including males who are every bit as charming as females.

I am primarily a heterosexual male. Having said this, I have seen males who have feminine lovely bodies. These males range from males with feminine style curves to even those with fine backsides. Some males I've seen were even scantily clad. I even have gone as far as seeing certain male bodies in the buff. Beauty is beauty in many different forms. It isn't always the sexiest ladies who have the most lustful bodies. Some males show they can be just as appealing and attractive as any female. And there really is no shame in being attracted to a male who can look as hot as any seductive lady. It just means you appreciate beauty in a number of forms among a number of people. More often than not, there is that feeling of a guy looking at a hot male and thinking "you were looking at a dude's butt." It is as if to say you are a disgrace to manhood just because you are a male who lusted over the body of a seductive male. Only a certain few can love to appreciate beauty in many different forms. You are not automatically gay just because you are a male who fancies the body of another male no matter how sexy he may be.

Some males who dare test the feminine waters sometimes look great. One of those males is Sinon Jaro Loresca. This athletic build Filipino male model famously wore high heels as well as pretty dresses especially as Miss Philippines won Miss Universe back in 2017. Even speaking as a mostly heterosexual male, I must say that the rather muscular Sinon Loresca can look as hot as even some athletic women. Check out this video to gain some insight:

^ Pagrampa ni Sinon Loresca AKA Rogelia, patok online

Other males have shown to be fabulous looking in feminine clothing and modeling feminine. YouTube superstar GREGORYGorgeous was fabulously feminine before becoming GiGiGorgeous. Andrej Pejic was one of the very best at modeling masculine and feminine before becoming Andreja Pejic. Irish model Ivan Fahy nicely models feminine.

With this video, the model is more shocking than the car:

Stav Strashko para Toyota

So this proves that male models can be just as hot and as lustful as most female models.

They WOULD Say, I Say...

So what are thoughts concerning certain males who look and/or dress in feminine ways? Well, I have come up with a few quotes I think people would say in regards to males looking or dressing in feminine ways. I also will respond in a number of ways.

"Males are not supposed to look lovelier than most females."

You may have heard of the saying that everything in life has beauty, only so few realize it. Well, most people will cringe or feel disgusted if they see what looks like a sexy and attractive female... only to find out that lovely female is actually a male. The simple fact is that some males can actaully have bodies and features as lustful as even the sexiest women. Some males even have feminine bodies which make them just as appealing as (or sometimes more) than most genetic females.

"You're a male. Stop wearing feminine clothing."

I always say the biggest double standard in fashion is that females can get away with looking masculine; but if a male dresses feminine, he is accused of crossdressing. Almost as if to say a male dressing and/or acting feminine is taboo. Fashion allows us to express ourselves any way we choose. Us males don't have to exclusively wear masculine clothing. On top of that, I dislike a lot of the terms used for feminine fashions made for males. For example, "manskirt," "mandals," "RompHim" (the item used to get men to wear rompers), and that sort of thing.

What say you on talking points like this?

What If You are a "Beautiful Male?"

What if you are one of my male readers and you like dressing and acting feminine? That is all perfectly fine. It means you are defiant of social norms and choose to live the way you want to live regardless of what others may think. You show that even males can look as fabulous as almost any fashionable female. You should feel as confident showcasing yourself ranging from being in the hottest of-the-moment fashions, to being scantily clad, to even being in the buff. No matter what, you have the confidence and charm almost any model needs to be celebrated.

Beautiful Males: Final Thoughts

Despite social norms and gender roles, males who exhibit looks and cues as enticing as females should be celebrated and honored as any female model. Most males would cringe at the notion of seeing a male being as beautiful as a female model, but such male models have the confidence and charm to pull these looks off. This is entirely a discomforting concept in the eyes of most people. However, some of these "beautiful males" are as charming as even the cutest/sexiest of female models. So hand them some respect even if you disagree with such males being so pretty in looks. Beauty is in all things- even including males with feminine-like beauty and charm.

This post is over.

How do you feel about males who exhibit feminine-like beauty and charm in their modeling and/or their fashion?

Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Jak&Jil

John B. Marine | 11:54 AM | | | | | | Be the first to comment!
Jak&Jil is about sustainable fashion. This Brazilian company was once a popular fashion blog. It is now an online platform for promoting and producing fashions for men and women with no harm to organisms or the environment. This blog post will allow me to offer a look at Jak&Jil and promote it here on "StyleSpace by JBM." So if you are interested, please stay with this blog post and read on!

NOTE: I was contacted by the company to promote them in my blog. However, all opinions expressed are my own opinions.

Jak&Jil

Let me begin by sharing Jak&Jil's mantra:

"Fashion is Everywhere."

-Jak&Jil

Jak&Jil is a Brazilian fashion designer that used to be a popular fashion blog. The company is based in Curitiba, Brazil; and it has a sales team based in Miami, FL, USA. Jak&Jil was created by Tommy Ton. If Jak&Jil had their way, they believe all fashions should be create with minimal or no impact to the environment or towards living entities. So you can wear fashions promoted by Jak&Jil with guilt-free fashion. You at least know you can look good without wearing (for example) something that was made by killing certain animals or with materials that can damage the environment. Commitment to this level of excellence is commendable especially among types like ethics activists and animal rights activists among others.

Jak&Jil has a presence across 10 different countries around the world. These include locations in its native Brazil, the United States, Columbia, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Italy, and India. The Jak&Jil team itself is very small- about 2-10 employees. The company won Best New Publisher honors in 2016 by Rakuten. So for sure this is a company on the rise.

Actually, I was contacted long ago by Jak&Jil to promote their brand; however, I never got around to making a proper post about them until now. So let me tell you about the campaign for Jak&Jil.

Jak&Jil's Initiative.

The fashion industry and textile industry are the third largest industries in the world. Despite this, it is also the second-largest polluter and second-largest in water consumption. Jak&Jil wants to lower that footprint on our environment. Part of how they want to lower that footprint is through their promotion of sustainable fashions.

Here now is a look at Jak&Jil.

Jak&Jil at a Glance.

Jak&Jil is not a fashion designer, but it is a portal for various sustainable fashion items. Jak&Jil works with a number of different retailers to promote various sustainable fashions. Each item featured on Jak&Jil's website is designed by a certain designer and features a link to the proper store(s) online where the item can be bought. Each item is also (of course) some sort of sustainable fashion item. Brands featured range from mainstream designers to high-end designers. You will find one item priced very affordably, but you may then find one item in the same category costing around four figures. You have designers featured on Jak&Jil ranging from types like Calvin Klein, show me your mumu, Roxy, Rebecca Taylor, Hudson Jeans, Missguided, and more. Retailers featured include the likes of Macy's, NORDSTROM, Zaful, and safs Fifth Avenue among others. So it is not as if all of the designers are exclusively no-name brands selling no-name items to no-name retailers. You are getting real fashion from real designers while enjoying various guilt-free, cruelty-free fashions.

Also, if you are worried about Jak&Jil only catering to a certain audience, fear not. The site offers fashions for certain categories. Plus size fashions for men and women are offered along with intimates and swimwear. There are even sustainable fashions featured for maternity types for women on Jak&Jil's website. There is something for everyone in the world of sustainable fashion featured on Jak&Jil's website.

Of the items offered on Jak&Jil, they only offer clothing. So you will not get to find items like shoes, handbags, accessories, beauty products, or things of that nature on the site. You can still find any number of sustainable clothing for men and women. If shopping sustainable fashions for babies and children, you will find nothing there on that front.

Jak&Jil's Campaign: the Sustainable Fashion Awards.

The campaign set by Jak&Jil is the Sustainable Fashion Awards. Jak&Jil will handsomely reward fashion designers who make sustainable fashions for the masses. A prize package of up to $6K USD will be offered for the winner of the Sustainable Fashion Awards. Half of it will be rewarded to the designer, and the other half will be rewarded to an NGO (non-governmental organization) picked by the winner. Jak&Jil has many partners helping sponsor the Sustainable Fashion Awards. If you are a designer of sustainable fashion and feel you are deserving of this grand prize offered by Jak&Jil, then please visit jakandjil.com/sfa2018 to learn more about eligibility requirements and to submit your entry.

Now that you know about Jak&Jil along with the Sustainable Fashion Awards, let me offer some final thoughts.

Jak&Jil: Final Thoughts

Jak&Jil does a fine job of promoting sustainable fashion. Based in Southern Brazil and with a sales team in Miami, Jak&Jil is one of the many types to showcase and promote sustainable fashions for the masses. You don't have to sacrifice various essential resources to look and feel good. Jak&Jil does so by offering various stylish items for men and women that do not involve harming the environment or even living organisms. Even if you are not the sustainable fashion type, at least give this company a try to find quality fashions that are completely guilt-free.

Remembering Polyvore

John B. Marine | 7:57 AM | Be the first to comment!
Polyvore was great for posting sets. Now, Polyvore is no more- gone without much a trace. What was Polyvore sets are now widgets for fashion retailer SSENSE. SSENSE acquired Polyvore on April 5, 2018. I made my own sets with Polyvore even. This post is a look at Polyvore and why I think this is such a huge blow to fashion types.

What made Polyvore so popular was the fact this allowed people to put together their own fashion collages (called Sets). Even yours truly put together Polyvore sets for various creations of outfits. The fact Polyvore seemed to be a means of creating outfits was a boon for fashion types who otherwise would have to spend money to create certain dream outfits based on collages. Now that these collages from Polyvore are no more, one big piece of fashion experimentation is now dead. Polyvore helped to create fashion ideas most of us may otherwise not be able to create such ideas. Unless you saved images of whatever Polyvore sets you created, your fashion visions created through Polyvore are basically dead.

Even for a guy like myself, Polyvore was instrumental in me visualizing outfits to be worn. I learned Polyvore was no more when I looked at my "JohnMarineDesigns" page to see my Polyvore sets be turned into widgets for SSENSE. I pretty much have felt as if Polyvore went without a trace. It was the best possible service to visually showcase fashion ideas. Now with Polyvore gone, I will have to find more ways to visualize fashion.

I would like to thank Polyvore for giving myself and others the opportunity to create our own outfits through unique visualizations. Now that Polyvore is no more, fashionable types will have to find other ways to visualize fashion outfits. Thank you to the Polyvore team for helping us create our own sets and visualizations from the time Polyvore was existed on the Internet.

And that's all for this blog post. Here is your chance to discuss this topic...

Do you miss Polyvore? How will you remember Polyvore? How much has Polyvore meant to you?

YOINS

John B. Marine | 9:57 PM | | Be the first to comment!
Meet Yoins- one of the most popular online fashion outlets. Its name is derived from the word "inspiration," and they are all about "Yours Inspiration." Let YOINS help a fashionista like to be fabulous! Their fashions are mostly affordable while delivering big on style. Their items range from casual day pieces to night out fashions. They even have clothes for lounging around the house, intimate lingerie, and even active clothing for those of you wanting cute workout clothes. So YOINS covers all the bases, and I'm sure any fashionista will have no problem scoring a home run (or even a Grand Slam) of style when shopping from YOINS. This blog post is a post to expose my readers and visitors to YOINS. Welcome to "StyleSpace by JBM!" This is the non-traditional fashion blog of mine where everything somehow connects with fashion.

A Note About Brands...

A long time ago, I was contacted by YOINS if I wanted to do a collaboration. I decided until recently to post about this company. Opinions and thoughts are of my own. I don't blog about a company unless I am either contacted by that company or unless I decide to make my own post.

YOINS

Time to talk a little more about YOINS.

YOINS Yours Inspiration
^ from: (Twitter) - YOINS has one goal in mind for fashionistas- frugally fabulous.

Established in 2014, YOINS is one of the most popular retailers of fashion online. Their offerings are sure to make any fashionista look and feel fabulous. Casual, chic, dressy, intimate, and sporty pieces encompass the vast array of styles and garments offered by YOINS. Need some shoes, a handbag, or some other accessories? YOINS can help you here, too! So this company offers almost anything to help you look and feel fabulous as the fashionista you are. Excluding tax, most of the items I looked up in researching this blog post cost no more than $50 USD.

YOINS has a gallery of fashionistas who rocked their designs. You can find fashionistas wearing YOINS' designs either from their home page or from one of their Instagram accounts. You will get to see how YOINS' outfits are styled by looking at these galleries. You surely can add your finest pictures to YOINS' galleries if you wear their clothes.

Thoughts on Fashions.

I am not a female, so I can't say I've tried out any of their fashions. What I CAN do, however, is offer opinions on their fashions. Most of the responses from impressions from customers have been mostly positive. I can therefore say you will not have to worry so much about quality or shipping on their products.

The dresses YOINS offers on their website are all quite lovely. They are just about all a fashionista could want in affordable chic. If you just want an affordable dress that will see you through occasions ranging from casual dresses to night out material, YOINS' offerings will not disappoint for the price point.

The tops collection for YOINS include a handful of casual tops and a few dressy ones as well. Some rather hot lingerie tops are also offered. And again- all offered at very affordable prices.

Bottoms on YOINS encompass casual, chic, sporty, and cozy bottoms. A handful of jeans, shorts (including rompers/playsuits), pants (including jumpsuits), leggings, and skirts make up the Bottoms lineup on YOINS' website. All or most of their clothing seem to be very fun to wear and style. Most of their bottoms are sure to please even the most discriminating fashionista. Great style without breaking the bank.

It may seem awkward and perverted for a male to discuss lingerie, but most of you know I have a lot of class in my work. With that said, YOINS offers a handful of lingerie sure to make you look and feel great with whatever outfit(s) you put together. The pieces I've noted are quite stylish for the intimate set.

Shoes and bags offered by YOINS are all priced fairly well. A few items are over $50 USD (excluding tax). Most of the items are still mostly affordable and stylish.

That is a little look at the fashions from my brief research of YOINS.

Final Thoughts.

YOINS offers high-quality fashions for low prices. If you somehow fall into the presumption that low-priced clothing is mostly cheap and not stylish, think again. I can think of a handful of small business stores that offer certain low-priced fashions that don't look as amazing as even basic clothing from mainstream retailers. Some low-end fashion stores mostly have clothing a bit too sexy or too cheap to be of great quality. From the look of things, YOINS' offerings will not disappoint in making you look great. The range of styles and occasions are enough to make anyone look and feel fabulous. If you want cute casual clothes, YOINS has it. If you want to glam things up for a night out (or even a cute daytime flirty outfit), YOINS has it.

One thing I probably haven't mentioned is that each of the clothes do come in a variety of sizes. Unfortunately, US sizes are not featured from YOINS' website. So you will need to do some sleuthing to determine what size is closest to the size you wear. Sizes featured on the site are in UK, EU, FR, IT, and AU sizes.

Other than this, there is not much in the way of you looking and feeling your best with affordable and stylish fashions offered by YOINS. You could always go to much bigger retailers offering fashions from world-renowned designers and world-renowned products. Even if money were not an object, you could get as amazing of style from YOINS as you could from most major retailers and designers. However, if you want style on the cheap and with high-quality fashions, you can do no wrong shopping with YOINS. Be the most fabulous fashionista in your city... and not have to spend an arm and a leg to do so, with YOINS!

For More Information...

I would like to thank the ones from YOINS who contacted me. Also, it is my apologies that I have taken so long to compile a post to their brand. As we say, though- better late than never. To anyone else wanting me to feature brands in my blog, please feel free to contact me. It usually takes a while because I have to make sure I am faced with legit companies. I don't want to feed anything laden with scams to my readers or visitors.

I want to also thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Least Favorite Fashion Poses

John B. Marine | 5:33 PM | Be the first to comment!
Modeling poses in fashion can be as great the outfits themselves. However, some modeling poses or actions I loathe. So I'm going to share my least favorite modeling acts here. I'm not going to spoil things with pictures, so you'll have to read what are my least favorites!

Before I Begin...

Here is a forewarning. I mean no disrespect if you're "guilty" of some of the actions I will make mention of here. Much like I mean no real disrespect of any trends or looks I dislike. This is a blog of opinion, and I am free to share my dislike professionally.

Least Favorite Modeling Poses: Considerations

How you model outfits can be just as critical as the outfits themselves. Do you present yourself in a unique way to bring a certain mood to outfits, or do you present yourself in a way that cheapens outfits as a whole? You certainly want to be able to show your personality in a unique way with certain poses.

Everyone has their most favorite and least favorite ways of expression in fashion. For example, "Fashion by He" once made notion of hating when certain fashionistas do jumping poses in their outfit posts. Everyone has their likes and dislikes. Certainly mine are no different. The goal here is to share some of my own dislikes. In this case, the topic is on fashion poses. I want to give the impression that while I try to be neutral on a lot of things, I do have my own tastes.

Having said all of this, it is time I share some of my least favorite poses. So go to the next section of this post!

Least Favorite Modeling Poses

Each of the actions/poses I speak of will be listed in descending order (last to first). I will not spoil this list with any pictures, so you will need to read the full post to know what my five least favorite poses are! Then use your imagination to know what I am talking about as I describe my five least favorite poses.

5.) [Some] Laughing Poses.

For someone who boasts about positivity and positive thinking, one would look at me strange by mentioning laughing- which is obviously positive and exudes some personality. Faking a laugh can sometimes be cheesy (no pun intended).

4.) [Some] Walk Poses and Jump Poses.

I never really liked certain walk poses, including jump poses from fashion bloggers. Just seems a touch too cheap to me. I am not one to really judge what is acceptable or annoying in regards to walking poses. These mostly sort of pertain to 3/4 front views or side views of walking poses. This rant does not pertain to look behind walking poses. As for jumping poses, jumps from the front or back are okay to me. Some jumps from the sides are like the "walking on air" deal. It doesn't get annoying, but I am usually not as fond of this at times.

I originally had this as just walking poses but decided to put certain jumps into this point to combine the two.

3.) The Toe Stand.

Standing on the tips of your shoes in a fashion pose. I honestly never liked this pose which some people tend to associate with the late "King of Pop," Michael Jackson. The only exception of toe stands is with ballet. However, doing this in sneakers or combat boots or something... NOT a fan.

2.) Mouth Hiding With Props.

It is understandable at times to not show your face proper. Fashion is more about putting outfits together rather than showing your identity to add to outfits. That said, though, I've seen some who hide their mouths with flowers, big leaves, or anything like that. I never really liked this all that much to be honest.

And my least favorite? It is...

1.) Bubble Gum Blowing.

Many people think this is cute or cool. I think it's [expletive]ing gross! It's cute to some since you're hiding your face. And most people look cool (or think they do) blowing bubble gum bubbles. If that isn't bad enough, I saw on Yahoo! Answers in my researching of this topic that some guys find girls who blow bubble gum bubbles to be erotic. Erotic... really? I also dislike lollipop licking and stuff, and that's more erotic than blowing bubble gum. But... this is the Internet, where the infamous "Rule 34" applies to everything. Honestly... bubbles annoy me to be honest, let alone from bubble gum. I'm sorry if this offends some of you.

Now you know of five of my least favorite fashion poses in pictures. Before I go to Final Thoughts, let me make an Honorable Mention...

Least Favorite Fashion Poses, Honorable Mention: Big Lip Clutch Covering Mouth.

I dislike a lot of lip design material in fashion. What I often loathe most with this style is posing with a lip clutch to give the impression of a huge kiss or whatever. It's tacky to me. Don't like it all that much.

Okay. Final Thoughts time. Go to the next section!

Least Favorite Fashion Poses: Final Thoughts

This post was not intended to attack anyone who may be "guilty" of doing such poses or posting such pictures. It is much like whether I rave or rant against certain outfits or trends. You are free to express yourself in fashion any way you please- even including certain poses to bring life to your outfits and outfit posts. As much as fashion is a great means of expression, some of these poses can be pretty annoying or not as fun as some make them out to be.

Express your style any way you please. Just know I am honest about certain things I like and dislike- including certain poses and acts in fashion posts and such. Don't let me stop you from you wanting to do your outfit posts the way you want to. So now you know about some of the fashion poses (and some picture thoughts in general) I dislike.

That's all for this post. Thanks for visiting "StyleSpace by JBM!" Discussion time:

What are some of your least favorite poses, and are you "guilty" of any of the ones I mentioned here? What are your counters to any of the poses I disliked that you disagree with me about?

Subscribe/Follow if you love my blog... even if you disagree with my views (but still respect them)! Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.
