Rubber clogs, such as crocs, have become the trendiest warm-weather shoes of late. Say what you want about these quirky rubber clogs, but they surely have their style. They may have overtaken flip-flops/thong sandals in warm weather footwear. They are also unisex and a bit more versatile than flip-flop/thong sandals. So consider this blog post a celebration of rubber clogs.

You probably have seen rubber clogs like these worn by people in warm weather. Possibly in colder weather, you may have seen these worn with socks. Whatever the case, these rubber clogs have caught on with the general public-at-large. One cannot second-guess the appeal these rubber clogs provide. One of the things people complained about the likes of flip-flop/thong sandals is the flapping sound they make when people walk by. You don't really have that problem with rubber clogs. While socks with flip-flop/thong sandals can look wrong and tacky, you can get away with wearing socks with rubber clogs.
Rubber clogs usually are worn as gardening wear. However, rubber clogs have been popularized by the likes of crocs. Many people usually look to crocs for rubber clogs. They are surely the most popular maker of these shoes. When I visited a crocs store at an outlet mall in San Marcos, Texas, USA; I saw there were even branded rubber clogs from entities like Disney and even the Wu-Tang Clan. While crocs are the most popular maker of rubber footwear, some even try to make rubber clogs chic- including the high-end designer Balenciaga...

Have Rubber Clogs Overtaken Flip-Flop/Thong Sandals?
About 20 years ago, flip-flop thong sandals were the warm weather shoes most everyone were wearing. Now in 2022 or so, I've seen more rubber clogs than flip-flop/thong sandals in warm weather. These rubber clogs can very cool and comfortable to wear. When it's cold, for those who want to wear rubber clogs in colder weather, you can. It also works better to have clogs with socks rather than socks with sandals. Rubber clogs also allow you have more style options ranging from solid rubber clogs to colorful ones with charms to them. You seemingly can do a lot more with rubber clogs than with flip-flop/thong sandals. So in a way... maybe rubber clogs have been the new hot casual shoes over flip-flop/thong sandals.I'll share some final thoughts on rubber clogs coming up now.

Rubber clogs can be an eyesore for a lot of people, but these have proven to be versatile and customizable casual shoes. Some rubber clogs are even suitable enough to wear in some workplaces. These are comfortable shoes to wear. Even if you think many of these rubber clogs lack style, at least these shoes are comfortable enough and expressive enough to be considered fun to wear by many who wear them. One can do no wrong to pick up some of these clogs if they fancy them.
