Otomi Embroidery

John B. Marine | 11:34 PM | | | Be the first to comment!
Long ago on "Stylespace by JBM," I made a blog post about Puebla dresses. A big part of these folk outfits' appeal is in the colorful embroidery. Well, for this blog post, I want to focus on Otomi embroidery.

I want to note that this is not the only style of embroidery; this is the style of Mexican embroidery I got to learn about as I was researching this topic.

Otomi Embroidery

To everyone who adores Bohemian or festival chic, one can find something to love about the earthy tones of something like Otomi embroidery. Feminine garments with such Otomi embroidery can really enhance the overall style of traditional Mexican folk outfits. These prints are known for being colorful and expressive. These designs can include floral designs, animals, or they may even be a combination of different colorful elements to form one amazing image.

Otomi embroidery gets its name from the Otomi people of the central plateau of Mexico. Otomi embroidery involves an elaborate stitching technique to put the colors together. These pieces are designed using embroidery floss. One thing I read or seen noted Otomi designs could take as many as eight months to make a complete piece; at least, by hand. Some designers can easily come up with these designs much quicker with sewing machines. Once these pieces are complete, some amazing designs can be made with Otomi embroidery.

Otomi Embroidery on Garments and Goods

Now that I have discussed Otomi embroidery, allow me to show you some examples. Follow along with me. All media featured are for educational purposes.

Now here is an example of Otomi embroidery on clothing:

^ from: (CasaQ) - These sneakers are adorned with Otomi embroidery to jazz up these sneakers.

What do I think about Otomi embroidery? Find out in my Final Thoughts.

My Thoughts on Otomi Embroidery

Otomi embroidery on garments are colorful and beautiful. The colors are vibrant and really bring out the loveliness among fashionistas. Otomi embroidery can also be great for home furnishings as well. Even if you aren't of any Latin descent, you can still enjoy something like a top or a dress with these accents on them. You can equally enjoy some Otomi embroidery with household items like pictures, accent pillows, and more. There is a lot to love about Otomi embroidery to me. You can definitely add these pieces to your wardrobe or your home if these embroideries interest you.

Ombré Hair

John B. Marine | 9:03 PM | | | | Be the first to comment!
Why have only one color of hair? Ever tried ombré hair? Ombré is for more than just clothes. If you are blonde, you may elect to have blue or pink ombre tips for a unique hairstyle. Even if you wear wigs, you can enjoy ombré hair. Regardless, this is a post regarding ombré hair. Are you ready for another cool topic on "StyleSpace by JBM?" Welcome to my non-traditional fashion/beauty blog!

NOTE: I am not any beauty expert, so I will not be sharing beauty tips on how to go with this styling of hair. I may provide extra resources in case this topic interests you greatly.

Ombré Hair

Let me provide an example picture to set the mood for this blog post. Here you go (picture will be changed if I can not use it for legality reasons):

ombre or ombré hair
^ from: (Cosmopolitan) - Ombré can add colorful personality to anything- including your hair!

And here is some inspiration for ombré hair with some brunettes getting the ombré treatment:

^ Ombre Hair Color for Brunettes Tutorials Best Hair Transformations

Being brunette, redhead, or blonde is perfectly fine. However, why not mix up your hair color a bit with... colors? Hair can be given a unique touch by simply adding some extra color to it. You could have long blonde hair and color the ends of it with light blue or light pink. While it is okay to leave hair as is, if you want to make your own statement, you are best served to try to go with some unique color combinations of your original hair and some kind of colorful accents.

In case you are not familiar with ombré, it is a stylish way to add unique colorful highlights to garments. Ombré style involves adding dyed style to any garment. For example, a basic white dress may have a pink color gradient to it and have this dyed look to it. Ombré is all about color diversion to make garments more exciting. While ombré is usually popular with garments, we are discussing bring ombré style to your hair.

So how can you go with ombré hair? Well, here are a few text examples. You can have dark brown or black hair but have purple or lilac colored accents to the bottom of your hair. You can have long blonde hair and decide to dye the lower portions of your hair with orange or some shade of pink. All you are doing is adding a different color to your hair to make it stand out a bit more.

If you wear wigs or have some artificial hair (such as weaves or hair extensions), you too can even go ombré with your hair! You can have as much fun with ombré style. In fact, a loyal reader who discusses ombré for wigs inspired me to post about ombré hair. I want to make mention to this resource as a way of saying thanks. Here is a quick resource I want to share with you if you are interested in ombré hair- even for wigs: Your Complete Ombre Hair Guide: 53 Facts and Ideas for 2018 (The Wig Mall). If you don't want to visit this link, it will be posted again towards the end of this post.

Ombré Hair: How to Get Started?

If you want to go ombré with your hair, you can pick up some hair products that allow you to color your hair. You could even go with some hair chalk... though things can be quite messy if you are not careful. Then too, you don't want to take any chances going with something like different hair products. So you want to be careful and maybe let professionals handle your hair rather than try to do any of this yourself.

Now for a few final thoughts of mine on ombré hair. Read on, enthused ones...

Ombré Hair: Final Thoughts

I don't think anyone can go wrong with ombré hair. Not all color combinations work, but you can surely experiment with any variety of color or colors to formulate your ombré hairstyle. Fashion is all about experimentation; ombré hair is no different. I've seen black or dark brown hair given blonde ombré treatment. I've seen a redhead style have pastel blue hair ends. You can try whatever combination of color or colors to your hair for your own unique hair color touch.

Sneaker Pairings With Dresses

John B. Marine | 11:44 PM | | | | | Be the first to comment!
I been on a #dressandsneakers discussion trip lately. This next post focuses on sneakers to pair with dresses. Not all outfits are created equal. Likewise, not every sneaker works for every dress. So I want to focus on specific sneakers to keep an outfit stylish rather than ruin an outfit over a poor choice of footwear. You'll get my further sort of analysis and thoughts on the trend with this blog post.

Sneaker Pairings With Dresses

There are many ways to set the mood with a picture on this topic, so here is another dress + sneaker combination to get this one started:

sneakers with dress
^ from: lookastic.mx - This series on Dresses With Sneakers continues with another semi-random picture I found to identify this post.

While sneakers can be perfect for playing down outfits, they can also be nice compliments to certain outfits for those with keen eyes for fashion. Through my extensive research, I found that some sneakers are actually not bad to go with outfits, including dresses. That's why I wanted to focus solely (no pun intended) on sneakers for this blog post in this "series" of posts on dresses with sneakers.

The right pair of footwear can compliment outfits nicely. Some others can ruin them. A lot of us males would prefer females wear high heels or some very strappy shoes. Any female, however, will tell you that they prefer to have some comfortable shoes apart from the most appealing of heels. Sneakers don't ruin dresses, but the wrong kind of sneaker can be a complete turn-off to a dress + sneakers outfit. I find some sneakers to be rather elegant. Paired with the right style dress, a dress + sneakers outfit can be cute. Some sneaker combinations with evening/party/formal type dresses can actually be stylish and even sexy- especially certain elegant mini dresses. The right style sneakers with any sort of dress can depend on the dress itself as well as having a charming set of legs and even ankles. I tend to fancy more sleek-style sneakers and even some platform sneakers paired with dresses.

A lot of the dresses and sneakers trend mostly pertain to white sneakers. But as we all know, some dare to be different. There is certainly no problem with white sneakers; however, you know there are fashionistas willing to try different color sneakers or multiple-color sneakers.

How Much Do Sneakers Matter With Dresses?

Well, I tend to look at balance to outfits. Certain fashion types will ensure certain outfits are not entirely casual or not entirely formal. Let us look at some examples. How would you play up a basic T-shirt and some cut-off jean short shorts outfit? Simple- by wearing some high-heel pumps or even a classy blazer or coat. How would you play down an elegant, ladylike dress? Simple again- you could opt for more casual daytime shoes (like flip-flops/thong sandals, some espadrilles, combat boots, or of course- sneakers. You also could opt to wear some kind of denim shirt or denim jean vest or jacket.

As much as certain dresses matter, sneakers equally can help enhance or hurt the balance of the dress. You certainly do not want to do the latter.

Sneaker Details.

How a pair of sneakers looks can matter as much as the dress a fashionista is wearing. Here are some sneaker details to consider when pairing sneakers with dresses:

• the profile of the sneakers themselves
• main color
• side detail
• shoe laces (if any)
• tongue and base
• heel tab
• toe detail

When you consider these things, they can help in deciding whether a pair is suitable enough to be paired with any dress you want to style sneakers with.

Popular Sneakers Paired With Dresses.

This is not a comprehensive list, but these are some of the most popular sneakers paired with dresses:

• (almost any Converses- low-top or high-top)
• Nike Dunk
• Nike Shox
• Nike Pegasus
• Nike Cortez
• Adidas Superstar
• Reebok Classic
• (certain New Balance sneakers)
• Keds Champion
• Superga Platforms

There are many others dresses usually paired with sneakers. This list is just a few of the common sneakers paired with dresses. The list is all based on certain sneakers I've seen mentioned by various fashion bloggers and of other featured fashion personalities.

Now that I think about it, I can see what has made sneakers such as the Adidas Superstar trendy among fashionable types. Some of the key elements to this are in logo detail and even in how the back is styled. With feminine footwear, nothing is quite like leaving a lasting impression with some stylish footwear. That is why (for example) the iconic red soles on Louboutin shoes are so empowering. So some stylish or colorful tab on the back of sneakers can be as fun as the rest of the shoes. The more options you have to style with certain sneakers, the better your chances of having the dream sneakers to compliment your outfits and style.

Sneakers With Dresses: Sneaker Pairings

Now that you have some of my insight in regards to pairing sneakers with dresses, it is time I focus purely on individual sneakers to go with certain kinds of dresses. I am hopeful you get to understand my look at the dress + sneaker styling trend.

NOTE: Some of the sneakers mentioned in this blog post may appear in future blog posts.

Sneakers With Casual or Sporty Dresses.

This section pertains to pairing sneakers with dresses such as this:

sneakers with casual or sporty dresses
^ from: www.revolve.com - Sneakers are casual. This dress is casual. Why not find a pair of sneakers to go with this if you prefer sneakers?

I said before that sneakers are casual. When paired with casual pieces, the combination works very well. Some feel the need to be more comfortable by trading formal or classy shoes with a pair of sneakers. So in essence, even formal or elegant outfits can easily be played down with a pair of casual sneakers.

My idea of casual with casual would be something like a daytime dress with usually a pair of canvas sneakers. Since you are not trying to be fancy or all dolled up, these are times when dresses with sneakers is acceptable and stylish. You can stay casual with no fear of ruining an otherwise stylish outfit. Ease and comfort are what you are going for here. You already feel feminine and pretty in a dress; why not find a pair of sneakers (if you choose to wear any) to go with your dress? Since the mood is casual, keep it casual.

SNEAKERS TO CONSIDER FOR CASUAL DRESSES: This is casual dresses we're talking about, so you can't go wrong with some of the usual suspects. I am not into Converses all that much, but they are not usually go-to sneakers for the casual set. A pair of Vans sneakers are also okay ranging from lace-up ones to the slip-on laceless kinds. Whether you love or loathe them, Skechers sneakers are very much casual and stylish. A company I have been seeing a lot of lately is Superga, and their sneakers can be quite cute for a number of casual dresses. Trainer sneakers from the likes of Nike, Adidas, Reebok, New Balance, and others are also not bad considerations. If going casual, almost any pair of sneakers will do with dresses- ranging from mainstream types to even high-end sneaker types. You can even go with platform sneakers if you like! Try wedge sneakers if you are daring.

Picture examples of SNEAKERS FOR CASUAL DRESSES:

sneakers for casual dresses Converse
^ from: (Amazon) - Converses are the go-to sneakers for most casual outfits by most people.

sneakers for casual dresses Vans
^ from: (Amazon) - Vans are also a fine sneaker option for casual dresses.

sneakers for casual dresses Keds
^ from: (Amazon) - For girly charm, I always have been fond of Keds. Especially the iconic Keds Champion sneakers are a fine choice for any fashionista.

sneakers for dresses Skechers
^ from: (Amazon) - Don't count out the unique casual shoe styles of Skechers. Many a casual outfit- dresses included- can benefit style-wise from Skechers sneakers.

sneakers for dresses sporty
^ from: (Amazon) - Feeling sporty? Some sporty sneakers will serve your dress well. Some are sporty enough while not being too sporty. Such sporty sneakers, such as the Adidas Superstar sneakers, are very popular among sporty sneakers.

sneakers for dresses sporty
^ from: (Amazon France) - The so-called "ugly sneakers" or "dad sneakers" platform sneakers with either a casual or a sporty appearance can actually be rather cute with the right kind of dress. A number of people reference these platform sneakers more like Sporty Spice of the Spice Girls.

So be sure to experiment to your heart's delight with casual dresses and sneakers. Hopefully sneaker examples like the ones I have provided will give you some inspiration.

Sneakers With Classy Dresses.

This section is where we are talking about pairing sneakers with dresses like this:

sneakers with classy dresses
^ from: www.dillards.com - It doesn't have to be Casual Friday to go with sneakers at the office.

Most classy-type outfits paired with sneakers are strongly discouraged. Same applies to classy work-appropriate dresses. Some female need some sneakers to walk around in when trying to find comfort from high heels or some other kind of classy footwear. Sneakers at work likely isn't discouraged when it's Casual Friday. I can immediately think of sheath dresses as a lovely example of work-appropriate dresses. I would argue against pairing sheath dresses with sneakers. However, if you insist on doing sneakers with any kind of work-style dresses, I would suggest certain classy shirt dresses. The best kind of sneakers to me for classy style dresses are those with sleek profiles. I would not go with any sneakers meant for Casual Friday or what you would probably wear when off of work or going to school/college.

SNEAKERS TO CONSIDER FOR CLASSY DRESSES: It is tough to try to be classy with sneakers. If it were possible, though, I have a few suggestions. I would first stay away from any active style sneakers or any canvas sneakers. Instead, I would look for sneakers with a sleek profile and an elegant appearance. One problem here is that some of the more sleek style sneakers can be rather expensive. However, you are not ruining the elegance and class too much by wearing sneakers that just don't go well balance-wise with a classy outfit. So you can be classy and elegant at the same time wearing something as casual as sneakers.

Picture examples of SNEAKERS FOR CLASSY DRESSES:

sneakers for classy dresses
^ from: (Rebelle) - With classy-type dresses, it is best to go with sleek profile sneakers that still maintain your overall elegance. Don't ruin an elegant and classy dress with shoes entirely meant for a lazy day.

dresses with sneakers classy
^ from: farfetch.com - This is an example of sophisticated sneakers. I love these Robert Clergerie "Pasket" sneakers as far as sophisticated sneakers for women. These can be a sneaker alternative to oxfords or brogues. Their profile is sleek and can compliment a number of styles.

sneakers for classy dresses
^ from: (Amazon) - With classy-type dresses, it is best to go with sleek profile sneakers that still maintain your overall elegance. Don't ruin an elegant and classy dress with shoes entirely meant for a lazy day.

sneakers for classy dresses
^ from: www.ghostgirlkimiko.com - You COULD be able to go with wearing sneakers that are a balance of casual and sporty without being too much on either side.

Sneakers With Elegant Dresses.

Dresses like this paired with sneakers is what this section is about:

evening or party or club dress mini
^ from: www.tobi.com - Would you pair sneakers with an elegant dress? And what kind of sneakers?

Would you dare try pairing sneakers with certain elegant and ladylike outfits? Ladylike dresses meant for nights out usually call for the sexiest pair of heeled pumps or sandals (and sometimes boots) in your wardrobe. There are some elegant or sexy dresses that can actually be not bad to wear with sneakers. I am not just talking about dressing down evening dresses with daytime sneakers; some sneakers usually have a style to them that are actually not bad to wear with elegant or sexy dresses. You actually can wear certain sneakers and not end up killing the sex appeal offered by a night-style dress. When I tried pairing certain evening or elegant dresses, I found some sneakers could actually help maintain the elegant balance rather than destroy it entirely. It all depends on your fashion tastes and how you feel a pair of sneakers can prevent from dumbing down an outfit too much. Chances are, most of us males would probably be turned off of a hot female in an elegant mini dress... and wearing sneakers rather than some spicy stiletto high-heels.

Dresses defined as "elegant" by me include bodycon/bandage dresses, any formal-type dress of mini or long length, any nightclub-appropriate dresses, certain sexy mini dresses, and things like that. These are dresses of at least semi-formal variety.

SNEAKERS TO CONSIDER FOR ELEGANT/NIGHT DRESSES: So you want to wear sneakers with a night-style dress? Just like the previous section, I advise against certain athletic/active sneakers. Basically look for a pair of sneakers as sophisticated and as attractive as your night outfits. If you really care to look sophisticated and hot even in sneakers, best to find sneakers to compliment your elegant style. Since this is not about office-style fashion, you can afford to go all out with sneakers to feel good in while wearing your evening or party style dress. So go try any number of expressive sneakers. Just remember not to throw off the balance too much with a poor choice of sneakers.

Picture Examples of SNEAKERS FOR ELEGANT DRESSES:

^ from: www.lyst.com - Some sneakers are elegant enough to go with the most elegant of dresses. The "Pasket" sneakers from Robert Clergerie is a fine example of elegant sneakers. Or at least, those that can considered elegant in their design. Those sneakers can even go with a variety of night dresses. So try them on with your stylish night dresses! (AUTHOR'S NOTE: I actually would pair sneakers like these with some sexy party dress stylish enough to not be ruined by them.)

glitter or metallic sneakers
^ from: (Lime Lush) - Because we are discussing night-type fashion, it is okay to bedazzle with sneakers. Perhaps with a hot night dress, go with some sophisticated metallic, glitter, or sequin sneakers.

^ from: meredith.com - You may also opt for some plain style sneakers but with some bedazzling elements, such as the detail at the back of these sneakers.

sporty casual sneakers
^ from: (ShopStyle) - You could wear sneakers that can be both sporty and girly, such as these athletic-style sneakers with sequin detail.

I hope I have given you some insight about what sneakers to pair whatever kind of dress with.

I have kind of been on a trip of discussing dresses with sneakers, though I admit I am not crazy over the trend. I do hope you enjoy my efforts nonetheless. Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Lemon Prints

John B. Marine | 12:41 PM | | | Be the first to comment!
When life gives you lemons, make cute clothes out ot them? Lemon prints have trended hard of late. Lemonade is usually great for warm weather times. In fashion, lemon prints are seemingly as popular as florals. To me, I have a strange attraction to yellow for Spring-Summer times. This usually comes in the form of bold yellow garments and even lemon yellow garments. However, this post is about lemon prints in general.

NOTE: This blog post is NOT about the lemon yellow color; but instead, lemon prints.

Lemon Prints

Let me provide you a picture for reference:

lemon prints
^ from: (Amazon) - This is a lemon print dress.

Whether as a top, a skirt, a dress, shorts, a romper, or any other garment; lemon prints provide some great variety. Normally, prints of foodstuffs don't look stylish to me. I am willing to make the exception with lemon prints.

Most lemon print garments have bold yellow colors for the lemons and complimented by dark green for the leaves. These colors are usually on a white-colored (or at least light-colored) garment. The punchy yellow colors followed by dark green are very much warm weather style material. Sometimes, lemon prints are shown on black (or simply dark) colored garments. No matter what the case, lemon prints surely have their appeal in droves.

Lemon Prints: Blogger Examples.

Here are a few fashionistas wearing lemon print garments. This will give you an idea of how certain fashion bloggers have styled lemon prints. Some personalities may be featured more than once. And please note- this is about lemon PRINTS, not the lemon yellow color. So take a look if interested:

"Lemon Print and White Pumps" (Stylish Petite) « a lemon print mid-length (midi) dress.
"Banana Republic Lemon Print Fit and Flare Dress" (Stylish Petite) « a lemon print dress with some bolder colors than the previous example.
"Find of the Day: The Lemon Print Dress ($39)" (Sensible Stylista) « an off-shoulder lemon print dress.
"When Life Gives You Lemons…" (Sydne Summer) « a lemon print camisole.
"Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy" (Elizabeth, Marie, and Me) « big lemon prints on a striped dress.

Follow these bloggers if their work interests you. I don't just feature them for the sake of featuring them. You may be interested in more of their work if they interest you.

Lemon Prints: Final Thoughts

Lemon prints can actually be quite nice and quite stylish. It looks best to me with light-colored garments, not so much with dark ones. You surely can find any number of lemon print garments ranging from casual clothing to swimwear. Feel free to enjoy sweet lemon style by sporting lemon prints.

This post is over for the most part.

How do you feel about lemon prints? How would you style lemon prints?

Rose Gold

John B. Marine | 3:26 PM | | | | | | Be the first to comment!
Rose Gold is an interesting color. Fashion-wise, it makes for a nice neutral color. Think of Rose Gold as pink but with some personality. Believe it or not, even some men sport Rose Gold and have Rose Gold items. So this color isn't exclusively feminine. I learned of Rose Gold as a rose color, but mixed in with gold.

Most Rose Gold colored fashion pieces include various garments (including shoes), accessories, and even makeup. Rose Gold can be a fabulous color for formal outfits, especially formal-type dresses. Rose Gold can be beautiful for pumps and chic sandals. This color can also be a hot one for lingerie. Some even liken Rose Gold to casual shoes, but I haven't seen too many I liked when researching this topic.

Here are some examples of rose gold fashion (all images from Amazon):

Rose Gold dress
^ Here is a formal rose gold dress.

Rose Gold top
^ This sparkling T-shirt is in rose gold.

Rose Gold shoes
^ Rose Gold can be a great color for footwear. To me, chic and fashionable shoes work better with rose gold than sneakers or other casual style shoes.

Rose Gold accessories
^ This is a rose gold ring with many lovely diamonds.

I find rose gold as a fascinating color. While blue is my favorite color, it is unlikely I'll be the biggest rose gold fan in the world. Definitely consider this color for your fashion and your beauty if you are tickled pink about this pink-like color.

That's it for this blog post. So...

What do you think about rose gold? How would you wear it?

Stay stylish! :) Thank you for reading! Take care and be well.

Ruffled Jeans and Ruffled Pants

John B. Marine | 9:10 PM | | | | Be the first to comment!
Lately, jeans and pants with ruffled hems are trendy. In vogue is in having ruffle pants and jeans. The dramatic detail of ruffles make a statement for jeans and pants. In this blog post, I will discuss ruffle jeans and pants. I could also discuss ruffle skirts, but the focus of this post is on ruffled jeans and ruffled pants. So if you are interested in this fashion style, keep reading this post on "StyleSpace by JBM!"

NOTE: This blog post is about ruffled jeans and ruffled pants, but most of this material will be just ruffle pants. The same ideas still apply, though.

Ruffle Jeans and Pants

There are two breeds of ruffle bottoms. I will break them up by two different styles. So take a look:

Ruffle Jeans and Pants: Side and Front Ruffles.

ruffle bottoms dramatic
^ from: (Amazon) - These ruffle pants have dramatic, statement-making legs to them.

These ruffle pants have dramatic, statement-making legs to them. These ruffles can be on the sides or up front. Front split-type ruffle bottoms can be lovely. These can either be ruffled up front or on the sides. The dramatic detail comes in a number of ways. The ruffled jeans/pants could have a draped design on the sides, up front, or any such combination. It makes the bottoms look heavier. Almost as if the detail was as thick as wearing a scarf. Such jeans and pants can have a charming high-low/mullet effect with their design.

Ruffle Jeans and Pants: Basic Ruffle Flares.

ruffle bottoms less dramatic
^ from: (Shopbop) - While less dramatic, these ruffle jeans can still be cute for a lot of shoe choices, including sneakers for this model.

These ruffle pants are simply slim-leg pants that have some ruffle bottom. They are almost like cropped flares, only they are not proper flared-type jeans or pants. These may also be ruffled pants little girls would wear (as opposed to at least adolescent or adult females). These style of ruffle pants can still be cute to a lot of fashionistas. However, they aren't as dramatic and as beautiful as the previous ruffle bottoms I made mention to. Most of the footwear choices I mentioned in the previous section apply to these ruffled jeans and pants I am making mention to. I even saw someone pair some ruffled jeans with combat boots, and she surprisingly looked good with these kind of ruffled jeans and pants. So experiment at will.

Ruffle Jeans and Pants: Footwear Style Options.

ruffle bottoms pumps
^ from: (Amazon) - These ruffled pants have dramatic sides to them, whereas the model shows her pumps.

ruffle pants footwear booties
^ from: (Shopbop) - There are a lot of footwear options to style ruffle pants. Even a pair of boots or booties can be cute with ruffle pants.

These ruffled jeans or pants can be dressed up with certain footwear to your liking. You could wear sneakers with ruffled jeans or ruffled pants, but I wouldn't recommend sneakers being worn with such bottoms. Pumps are perfectly fine along with a chic pair of sandals or boots. I would avoid furry footwear with these ruffled jeans and ruffled pants. I look at ruffle jeans and ruffle pants much like when I blogged about cropped flares. You can afford to wear some wild shoes with ruffle jeans/pants.

You probably have an idea of what I think about ruffled jeans and ruffled pants by now. Despite this, I still must offer my final thoughts to all of you. So get ready...

Ruffled Jeans and Ruffled Pants: Final Thoughts

There are few ruffled fashions I dislike, and I do not dislike ruffled pants. I tend to prefer the more dramatic style ruffle pants for their statement-making appeal. These bottoms can be quite fabulous to any fashionista who rocks them. My only recommendation is to avoid going with any furry shoes or any boots whose shafts are taller than where the ruffles flare out. Other than that, these can be some fun jeans and pants to wear.

Now that you know my thoughts on ruffled jeans/pants, this post is now over. But if you don't mind doing some shopping to get your own ruffled jeans or ruffled pants, please visit the next section.

Dark Florals

John B. Marine | 7:59 AM | | | Be the first to comment!
Dark florals have trended lately. Florals and light colors are pretty details suggesting peace and purity. However, what about dark florals? Dark colors and florals may seem like a juxtaposition. What it is, though, is the latest trend. So what do I think about dark florals? Find out in this blog post!

Dark Florals

Let me show you some dark florals to set this post up...

dark floral fashion
^ from: www.amazon.com - Florals are charming... even, dark florals?

Floral outfits are girly and sweet, but are florals just as pretty with DARK colors? Floral patterns can be charming on a variety of garments. I usually adore floral dresses and floral rompers/playsuits. I guess when I think of dark florals, I often think about maybe dark-colored footwear that have floral patterns of some kind. For example, think of platform wedge sandals or some ankle boots with floral designs to them. Cold weather times often are popular for dark colors.

I mentioned earlier that dark florals can be kind of a juxtaposition. You have dark colors mixed in with something as pure as flowers. Even kind of the Goth set can have dark florals in the sense of black clothing with deep red roses on it. So while flowers resemble peace and prosperity, dark colors usually resemble evil and edginess. There is the juxtaposition that dark florals can have. From a style standpoint, you are still enjoying the mass appeal of wearing floral garments. It is just different considering you are rocking floral garments in dark colors. The love for floral style still remains even if wearing dark florals.

Unless it's cold, dark florals probably wouldn't be too practical in colder weather. Florals and light colors are made for the warm weather times. You probably won't get too much usage in colder weather with florals. For example, you could probably wear warm tights to go with a dark floral dress or maybe with a dark floral romper. You can always wear certain dark-colored shoes that have some kind of floral prints to them.

Final Thoughts.

Dark florals are just as charming as light florals despite the juxtaposition. Feel free to enjoy all the charm and style of florals- even with dark florals. There is still plenty of love and a good number of ways to wear the trend as best as you like.

I was going to offer dark floral items to all of you, but I couldn't find anything great to provide. So no shopping items here, unfortunately. :(

Oh, well. Time to know what you think about dark florals. So...

Over-Knee Peep-Toe Denim Boots

John B. Marine | 9:30 PM | | | | Be the first to comment!
Some fashionistas have rocked over-knee, peep-toe denim boots lately. There was a time I actually hated peep-toe boots and booties. There were few over-knee boots I loved. Now add denim. No- not denim bottoms, but denim boots. What do I think about these over-knee, peep-toe boots? You're about to find out in this post. So welcome to another post of "StyleSpace by JBM!"

Over-Knee Peep-Toe Denim Boots

What kind of boots am I talking about? Here is an example:

over knee peep toe denim boots
^ from: (Pinterest) - Are over knee peep-toe denim boots stylish? Find out in my post on these boots.

Boots can be either tough or chic depending on the application. Over-knee boots have been loved by many a fashionista. Some, though, think of over-knee boots as *adult entertainer* material. Only a few times have I complimented a pair of over-knee boots. Otherwise, I never really liked those over-knee boots much.

While there was a time I despised peep-toe boots and booties, I eventually grew to love them. Well... not LOVE them, but not be as hateful of them. Only certain few peep-toe boots or booties have been to my liking. I just don't like peep-toe boots or booties as much as I do a regular pair of peep-toe pumps.

Then there's denim. Some love denim as a fabric- even to the point of footwear. I have seen things such as denim sneakers and even denim sandals. Fashionistas may probably wish they live in denim- ranging from intimates to maybe even getting married in denim (some have made denim wedding dresses before). If you love denim, does that love even include footwear?

See where I'm going with this? We got three elements working together- the appeal of over-knee boots, the girly charm of peep-toe footwear, and all with denim. Over-knee peep-toe denim boots. Let that thought sit in your mind a bit before I discuss my thoughts on these boots. If that isn't enough, these denim boots are styled a lot like your favorite denim, even to the point of details like busted knees, damaged details, distressing, and the like. So it almost like you are wearing a pair of jeans... while not wearing jeans.

The next section explains how I feel about combining these three.

Over-Knee Peep-Toe Denim Boots: Final Thoughts.

Just because you love denim doesn't mean everything looks good in denim. I don't care what anyone thinks- this is an atrocious combination of denim with over-knee peep-toe boots. I would rather just some basic over-knee peep-toe boots in a material other than denim. And even then, I'd prefer any BELOW knee boots instead and be selective on peep-toe or open-toe boots. I know there are those who have a denim obsession or enjoy denim as a whole. However, it doesn't mean EVERYTHING is better in denim; and surely not denim boots, let alone denim boots that go above the knees and have a peep-toe design. I can't believe I'm saying this as a guy, but I would rather see tall gladiator sandals than see these denim over-knee peep-toe boots. If you like these boots (or even gladiator sandals), fine. I am not here to tell people how they should dress or what to wear. With that said, though, these over-knee peep-toe denim boots should be burned- even if you love denim.

I haven't liked over-knee boots because many of them simply don't look all that stylish to me to either one's silhouette or to compliment certain outfits. Many are not as stylish to me in the least sense no matter what styles are out there no matter who proudly wear over-knee boots. I certainly think flat or low-heel over-knee boots are horrid. Add the fact these have a peep-toe design and make them in denim, and you add to the abomination these boots can be. Two wrongs don't make a right; three (or more) wrongs absolutely DO NOT make a right. Absolutely awful boots these over-knee peep-toe denim boots are.

If you want to wear jeans, wear jeans. If you want to wear over-knee boots that have or don't have a peep-toe design of some kind, wear those boots. Both over-knee boots made of denim? NO NO NO!!! Here's a better idea- wear some skinny jeans with some peep-toe booties (preferably with high heels of either of the wedge or stiletto variety). DON'T wear these denim over-knee boots with a peep-toe design. Do people a favor and prevent them from losing their sanity or eyesight- stay FAR away from over-knee peep-toe boots!

Maybe you disagreed with my views. That's perfectly fine because I am here to express my own thoughts on fashion the way I see things. That includes making unpopular opinions on the hottest styles. Whether I love or loathe styles, at least I am willing to offer material to viewers so that I don't seem completely one-sided. If you like these denim boots while I overly trashed them, here is your chance to score yourself some of these boots if they appeal to you. Please use this item below and proudly rock your style with these over-knee peep-toe denim boots:

Happy shopping! :)

...or at least, this is how I feel about them. What say you?
