Jak&Jil

John B. Marine | 11:54 AM | | | | | |
Jak&Jil is about sustainable fashion. This Brazilian company was once a popular fashion blog. It is now an online platform for promoting and producing fashions for men and women with no harm to organisms or the environment. This blog post will allow me to offer a look at Jak&Jil and promote it here on "StyleSpace by JBM." So if you are interested, please stay with this blog post and read on!

NOTE: I was contacted by the company to promote them in my blog. However, all opinions expressed are my own opinions.

Jak&Jil

Let me begin by sharing Jak&Jil's mantra:

"Fashion is Everywhere."

-Jak&Jil

Jak&Jil is a Brazilian fashion designer that used to be a popular fashion blog. The company is based in Curitiba, Brazil; and it has a sales team based in Miami, FL, USA. Jak&Jil was created by Tommy Ton. If Jak&Jil had their way, they believe all fashions should be create with minimal or no impact to the environment or towards living entities. So you can wear fashions promoted by Jak&Jil with guilt-free fashion. You at least know you can look good without wearing (for example) something that was made by killing certain animals or with materials that can damage the environment. Commitment to this level of excellence is commendable especially among types like ethics activists and animal rights activists among others.

Jak&Jil has a presence across 10 different countries around the world. These include locations in its native Brazil, the United States, Columbia, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Poland, Germany, Italy, and India. The Jak&Jil team itself is very small- about 2-10 employees. The company won Best New Publisher honors in 2016 by Rakuten. So for sure this is a company on the rise.

Actually, I was contacted long ago by Jak&Jil to promote their brand; however, I never got around to making a proper post about them until now. So let me tell you about the campaign for Jak&Jil.

Jak&Jil's Initiative.

The fashion industry and textile industry are the third largest industries in the world. Despite this, it is also the second-largest polluter and second-largest in water consumption. Jak&Jil wants to lower that footprint on our environment. Part of how they want to lower that footprint is through their promotion of sustainable fashions.

Here now is a look at Jak&Jil.

Jak&Jil at a Glance.

Jak&Jil is not a fashion designer, but it is a portal for various sustainable fashion items. Jak&Jil works with a number of different retailers to promote various sustainable fashions. Each item featured on Jak&Jil's website is designed by a certain designer and features a link to the proper store(s) online where the item can be bought. Each item is also (of course) some sort of sustainable fashion item. Brands featured range from mainstream designers to high-end designers. You will find one item priced very affordably, but you may then find one item in the same category costing around four figures. You have designers featured on Jak&Jil ranging from types like Calvin Klein, show me your mumu, Roxy, Rebecca Taylor, Hudson Jeans, Missguided, and more. Retailers featured include the likes of Macy's, NORDSTROM, Zaful, and safs Fifth Avenue among others. So it is not as if all of the designers are exclusively no-name brands selling no-name items to no-name retailers. You are getting real fashion from real designers while enjoying various guilt-free, cruelty-free fashions.

Also, if you are worried about Jak&Jil only catering to a certain audience, fear not. The site offers fashions for certain categories. Plus size fashions for men and women are offered along with intimates and swimwear. There are even sustainable fashions featured for maternity types for women on Jak&Jil's website. There is something for everyone in the world of sustainable fashion featured on Jak&Jil's website.

Of the items offered on Jak&Jil, they only offer clothing. So you will not get to find items like shoes, handbags, accessories, beauty products, or things of that nature on the site. You can still find any number of sustainable clothing for men and women. If shopping sustainable fashions for babies and children, you will find nothing there on that front.

Jak&Jil's Campaign: the Sustainable Fashion Awards.

The campaign set by Jak&Jil is the Sustainable Fashion Awards. Jak&Jil will handsomely reward fashion designers who make sustainable fashions for the masses. A prize package of up to $6K USD will be offered for the winner of the Sustainable Fashion Awards. Half of it will be rewarded to the designer, and the other half will be rewarded to an NGO (non-governmental organization) picked by the winner. Jak&Jil has many partners helping sponsor the Sustainable Fashion Awards. If you are a designer of sustainable fashion and feel you are deserving of this grand prize offered by Jak&Jil, then please visit jakandjil.com/sfa2018 to learn more about eligibility requirements and to submit your entry.

Now that you know about Jak&Jil along with the Sustainable Fashion Awards, let me offer some final thoughts.

Jak&Jil: Final Thoughts

Jak&Jil does a fine job of promoting sustainable fashion. Based in Southern Brazil and with a sales team in Miami, Jak&Jil is one of the many types to showcase and promote sustainable fashions for the masses. You don't have to sacrifice various essential resources to look and feel good. Jak&Jil does so by offering various stylish items for men and women that do not involve harming the environment or even living organisms. Even if you are not the sustainable fashion type, at least give this company a try to find quality fashions that are completely guilt-free.
