Scarves
Let's talk about scarves! Scarves have long been considered a fashionable way to keep your neck warm during cold weather. There have been some lighter scarves worn during even warm days. Scarves these days still have that function, but there are now warm weather scarves that simply add to your style. Your neck will be protected from cold weather should you wear a scarf. They can be better than wearing a heavy jacket that protects all of your extremities. Scarves can either be stylish ways to warm your neck, or they can serve as statement-making pieces that can dominate some outfits.
Some fashionistas dared try to wear scarves as tops. Be VERY careful if you are one of these fashionistas! Tightly-bound scarves can make ultra-sexy tops. If in the event of a wardrobe malfunction wearing a scarf as a top... the results won't be very promising. Regardless, it is possible to wear scarves as tops. More on wearing scarves as tops later in this post.
Light Scarves.
^ from: (Amazon) - A lightweight scarf can be good for cool days or even some warm days.
It used to be that scarves were only meant for cold weather. Scarves of lightweight material have shown to be stylish and chic for warm weather. I personally wouldn't want to wear a scarf on a warm day. If you feel a scarf can add some extra style for a warm day outfit, then go for it.
Heavy Scarves.
^ from: (Amazon) - Heavier scarves will warm your neck on cool and cold days.!
Scarves have always been considered cold weather accessories, and the cold weather scarves are thick and warm. I sometimes want to wear a scarf on cold days. It is possible I might get some neck comfort while wearing a thick scarf. So this can be double beneficial.
I wanted to discuss stoles also, but I will save that for another blog post.
Styling Scarves
There are a number of ways to style scarves. You can wear a scarf as a belt or as a sash. You are probably better served using lightweight scarves as belts or sashes to your outfit. Scarves can also be worn as turbans. Simply wrap a scarf around your head to wear as a turban. This is also a stylish option. Certainly, tying a scarf as a turban is something that would suit the likes of Hijab fashionistas. Scarves are unisex fashion garments.
Scarves as Tops?
^ from: (Pinterest) - Can you wrap a scarf into a top? You can- but be VERY careful a wardrobe malfunction doesn't happen!
For extremely daring and confident women, scarves can be wrapped up and worn as tops. They'll need to be wrapped up properly. Some scarf tops can be serviceable wrap tops or even be somewhat like halter bikini tops. Most of all when attempting to wear a scarf as a top- be very careful not to experience some sort of wardrobe malfunction wearing a scarf as a top. Keep the scarf tight and secure to prevent a... uh, embarrassing moment.
Those are some of the ways to wear scarves.
Scarves: Final Thoughts
Scarves are stylish way to protect your neck during cold weather. Additionally, scarves can be a style statement for when it is not cool or cold. You can even wear scarves as tops... only if you are daring enough and careful. So if you have a scarf, rock your style the way only you know how with scarves!
I would appreciate your involvement in the next section, but it is voluntary (meaning you don't have to if you don't want to).
