Double Pearl Chokers

Trendy of late among necklaces are double pearl chokers from the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Chanel. These are chokers that that have two big pearls at either end of the choker- one small pearl and one big one. What do I think of these chokers? This "Love or Loathe?" post details my thoughts on these pearl necklaces. To get started, let me show you a picture of the kind of necklace I've described here in this introduction:

^ from: www.amazon.com - Ever seen pearl chokers like these? They've been trendy lately, thanks to Karl Lagerfeld.

I'm all for making statements and such, though I am not crazy over statement pieces. However, I don't really like these chokers, and I'm not sure I want to have this as a statement necklace or want to make if I were trying to come up with outfits for females. I just don't like these all that much. The advantage to this style pearl choker is that they are quite elegant and charming. Conversely, I don't find them beautiful enough to really be fond of them. When I think elegance, I think of a female's beauty just being unleashed and expressed in an impressive manner. These chokers just don't do it for me. I'm sorry.

Maybe my problem with these chokers is the fact that there are two big pearls. Statement pieces are about big and bold accents and details, but I just don't like these details all that much, and I don't think they entirely equate to a beautiful outfit. I was even on LOOKBOOK earlier today and saw one of these chokers paired with this beautifully elegant outfit. I commented that the choker was the only knock on her otherwise beautiful evening-type outfit. It's just me, but I'm not as excited or as awed over seeing these. Maybe you like them, but I'm not liking these all that much at all.

It's time for you to speak up.

What do you think about these trendy double pearl chokers?
