Straight, Wavy, or Curly?

John B. Marine | 9:15 PM | | |
Straight, wavy, or curly? Any sort of hairstyle will frame your face and provide different levels of style. Straight hair is just plain and simple. Wavy hair provides dramatic style apart from straight hairstyles. Curly hair can range from cute to gorgeous depending on the curly style. No matter what kind of hairstyle you most favor, these three styles of hair will help compliment and accentuate your face and your style. Are one of these three styles of hair superior to others? Is there a style that works best? Or do any of these hairstyle types really depend on the person and the outfit? This blog post looks at straight, wavy, and curly hair. Unless you prefer bald heads, this blog post is a general digest and discussion of my thoughts on straight, wavy, and curly hair.

--- Straight, Wavy, or Curly: Overview ---

How do you like hair? How do you prefer your hairstyle? Do you like straight hair? Is wavy best? Is curly the best way to go? Before I answer the question, let's look at the three aforementioned hairstyles.

Straight Hair.

Straight is sweet!

straight hair
^ from: www.hairstylestars.com - Just let your hair fall straight down. Nothing too fancy or too over-the-top for straight hairstyles.

Straight down like a waterfall. So is the way of straight hair. Straight hair is just simple and easy. I think the longer your hair is, the lovelier straight hair generally is. I've seen many Pantene and Garnier commercials with straight-haired women showing their glorious tresses flowing richly and beautifully. There is a beauty to straight hair.

Wavy Hair.

Wavy is wonderful!

wavy hair
^ from: sweatyhomy.com - While wavy isn't straight, you have a lot more leverage in how to style your hair if waves are your thing.

Wavy hair is more of a middle ground of straight and curly hair. Hair is not exactly straight, but not fully curly either. Unlike straight hair, wavy hair has more volume. Nothing more fun than having bouncy and fun hair like what wavy hair can provide. This fun style applies both to long hair and short hair. Most wavy hairstyles are almost like the waves you'd see either on water or when water crashes along a shoreline. It is a beautiful effect.

Curly Hair.

Curly is cute!

curly hair
^ from: coolcurlyhair.com - Curls can range from cute to beautiful to wild. If you like curly hair, how do you like your curls?

While I don't have a preference for hair, if I had to choose one, I'd go with curly hair. The texture and detail to curly hair makes this hairstyle sweetest of all to me. There is no denying the fun and girly appeal of curly hair. Whether you have a messy curly bob or flowing long hair, curly hair is just beautiful to me. Curls frame faces beautifully. Curly hair has great volume and bounciness that are as fun as they are stylish. Even curly bangs offer great volume and style to hair. I usually think of Taylor Swift when it comes to curly hair. She had the most beautiful curly hair I've ever seen. Those curls are gone now as Taylor and her style have matured. Besides curly long hair, I also love curly afro-type hair. If you want an example of curly afros, Kelly Rowland famously has a curly afro.

My intent was to discuss feminine curly hair. However, there are males who also have curly hair. Masculine curly hair can be pretty handsome (and... I'll admit- kind of cute) for some males who have curly hair, such as Corbin Bleu. You may even be beastly with curly hair, like with professional gridiron football player Troy Polamalu.

However you prefer hair, these are three styles that make hair lovely.

--- Straight, Wavy, or Curly? ---

I know I said I had a preference for curly hair. However, there is no definitive or ultimate hairstyle. Whichever kind of hair suits you is the one you are most comfortable with. This is even if you may have natural straight hair or natural curly hair. Some may choose to have straight hair one day, then change over to a wavy or curly style the next day.

Sometimes even, a certain hairstyle can either compliment or detract away from certain outfits. It pays to have a sort of hairstyle consistent with an outfit or for an occasion. Remember that your hair is about as much of an expression and an extension as any other clothes you wear. So make the most of your hairstyle no matter what hairstyle suits you best.

Straight, wavy, or curly? I say you're a winner no matter which style you choose or prefer. Just make the most of your hair and style it nicely to suit you and your outfit(s). There is no right or wrong answer to this question.

I don't really have a preference for hair style. I think it really depends on face shape and size, personal style, etc. My hair is naturally wavy which I usually really like!

I agree with you John! Natural hair style is the best way to give you a natural and simple effect. My hair is straight and I usually keep them with their real nature. Love your blog <3

Great post John! I wish I had wavy hair sometimes, but I'm content with my natural bone straight hair. :)

I like the look a lot, but then sometimes I think it looks really silly. I wouldn't mind trying out one of the tools to make one as my hair is too fine to make a decent bun on it's own!
