Christmas Sweaters

John Marine | 7:04 PM | | |
Christmas sweaters are taboo for most people. Their whimsical (and often times ugly) appearance make them loathsome to many people. Many people find interesting ways to make even the most horrid of Christmas sweaters to be fashionable. Some, to be brutally honest, simply don't care how tacky or ugly they look wearing a holiday sweater. In fact, their ugliness makes them just that bit appealing to even wear a holiday sweater. I would bet you that some people who love their holiday sweaters would rather wear a holiday sweater than any of-the-moment trendy tops or outerwear. They may so ugly to some people that they're beautiful to wear.

These days, there are more fun Christmas sweaters out there in an attempt to make the Christmas sweater just a tad less boring or ugly. Or maybe ugly, but fun. These Christmas sweaters are for both males and females of various ages. As you can tell, this blog post is all about holiday sweaters.

Let's keep the mood going with some pictures of holiday sweaters. You either will find something to love or have to find something to throw up in based on these sweaters. Tacky or not, here are some holiday sweaters:

I tried to find more, but this is the best I could come up with. Enjoy:

"Thanksgiving: HAPPY ELFIN' DAY" (Nany's Klozet) « a burgundy holiday-type sweater.

Maybe I'll edit this post if I see more fashion bloggers sporting holiday sweaters. You can always contact me online, and I'll link to your post if I like what I see. This goes for ANY of my blog posts in any of my blogs.

--- Christmas Sweaters: Final Thoughts ---

I don't really care for holiday sweaters. I've talked about them like I loathe them, but I just don't care for them. I wouldn't want one or want to wear one. If you like them, fine. If you loathe them, also fine. I just don't really care for Christmas sweaters. They can be real tacky to me. From one perspective, I do find it interesting how someone can take something admittedly ugly or tacky, yet still try to be fashionable and fun wearing them. Christmas sweaters are almost as hated to most people as sheepskin boots. Of course, do people still enjoy wearing sheepskin boots even if they are so disliked? Of course.

Oh, so true. Their ugliness makes them all the more appealing. And there's nothing like a good ugly sweater to get you in the festive spirit!

Christmas isn't the same without the 'ugly' Christmas sweater! Love your picks John. Your post once again inspires me to style an "ugly" Christmas sweater and make it look chic and modern. It's on my radar ;)
